We are a group of Chartered Psychologists (British Psychological Society) offering psychological therapy in central London. As counselling psychologists, we specialise in the treatment of a wide range of emotional and behavioural difficulties, listed on the left.
We practice in psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioural and humanistic approaches. This allows us to formulate clients’ difficulties from a variety of perspectives and offer therapeutic interventions based on individual needs and clinical evidence. As Chartered Psychologists, we are bound by the British Psychological Society’s Code of Ethics and are committed to evidence-based practice.
All psychologists at Maple have undergone a minimum of seven years full-time training in Psychology and have additional post-qualification training in a range of innovative specialist therapeutic approaches. Most hold Consultant or ‘Highly-Specialist’ grades within the NHS together with academic positions.
They have many years of experience at managing, training and supervising counsellors, psychotherapists and psychiatrists.
Clients are ‘experts’ on themselves, and respect for individual values and goals is of great importance. The therapist is a guide employed to take people through the difficult process of self-understanding.
All psychologists at Maple are trained to use a variety of therapeutic ideas and methods. We believe that this helps us match the most effective approach to particular people and particular problems.
We are able to provide a service for clients who wish to be seen privately for reasons of confidentiality, convenience and duration. Appointments can be offered during the day, on evenings and on Saturdays. Initial assessments can usually be offered within 48 hours from initial contact. Clients can either refer themselves or be referred by their GP or Psychiatrist.
All the psychologists at Maple are sensitive to issues of difference with lesbian, gay and multi-cultural clients.
